Guidelines for Tree Donors

Your decorated tree is a donation to the Methuen Festival of Trees and will be raffled as part of the fund raising efforts of the Methuen Festival of Trees.

Trees must be artificial per requirements of municipal and state codes.

The ceiling height of the Atrium is 11 feet, 6 inches. Your tree plus the topper cannot be more than 11 feet tall.

Your tree should reflect a holiday theme or a theme that reflects your business or personal interest.

Each tree should have a tree skirt, tree topper, and lights. (This is not necessary for miniature trees.)

The following items CANNOT be used for health and safety reasons and at the request of the office park management: UNWRAPPED EDIBLE ITEMS, SPRAY ADHESIVES, GLITTER, CONFETTI, ARTIFICIAL SNOW or ANYTHING ELSE sprinkled loosely on a tree skirt or on the tree. This includes tossing glitter or snow on to a tree.  Glitter-covered ornaments are allowed. However, all ornament preparation must be done BEFORE you come in with your decorations. Per request of other donors and the office park management, do NOT plan on spraying anything during set-up.

All items that are placed with your tree will be considered part of the tree.  The raffle winner will be entitled to take all such items.

If you are giving a gift certificate or tickets to a performance, etc., please make a copy and place the copy on your tree.  The originals will be kept in the Festival safe.

Miniature Trees are TREES that are 16 inches or smaller in height and a base no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches will be part of a silent auction. The focus must be the TREE not other items placed with the tree.

The silent auction for mini trees will end at noon on December first.

YOUR TREE CANNOT BE AN EDIBLE ITEM. (Exceptions may be made for miniature trees, but the tree must fit under a 14 inch glass dome.)

Natural items must be sprayed so they do not disintegrate during the weeks the tree is on display.

Security is always a concern. Please wire any ornaments or items of value to the tree or tree stand.

Do not plan on leaving anything overnight, if you do not finish decorating your tree the first day/night that you are setting up.

Do NOT hot glue or staple anything to the black tablecloth your tree is placed on.  We must replace damaged cloths.

Please be prepared to take any boxes, packaging, etc. home with you.  We have no storage space for the boxes.

In most cases, the Festival will provide a round wooden stand that will raise your tree off the floor.  However, trees that have their own base will most likely be placed directly on the floor. The Festival will also provide extension cords.

If you are assembling and decorating your tree from scratch, you should plan on allowing four-six hours for set up depending on your tree size and decorations.  To save time, it is advisable to unpack and fluff out your tree before arriving.  Please bring a step stool or ladder, if you will need one.

The artistic design team will arrange the display of the trees.  When you arrive, you will be directed to set up your tree in the approximate area where it will be displayed.

The electrical outlets for the trees are in the center of the atrium.  Because of the location of the electricity, we will not be able to place any trees near or on the walls.  All the trees will be arranged along the center of the space.  Please keep in mind that your tree MAY be seen from all sides depending on space available.

The Methuen Festival of Trees is a 501(c) 3 private non-profit organization as defined by the US Internal Revenue Service code.  The Festival Committee will provide you with a donation verification letter should you desire it for tax purposes.
