The Methuen Festival of Trees depends on hundreds of tree donors, volunteers, advertisers, and other generous supporters who collectively make the annual Festival a tremendous success each year. At the center of this enormous volunteer effort is a Board of Directors that works all year to produce the Festival and to manage the organization’s preservation program.
This year, the Festival is pleased to welcome six new members to the Board of Directors –
- Attorney William ‘Bill’ Cox, Haverhill, MA
- Rosemary Desmond, Groveland, MA
- Lydia Harris, Haverhill, MA
- Debra Morin, Methuen, MA
- George D. Perry, Salem, NH
- Laura Beth Solomon, Methuen, MA
“We’re excited to welcome this talented group of individuals to our leadership team,” said Tom Lussier, Festival Board president. “Each of them have demonstrated a tremendous commitment to the Festival – we’re pleased they’ve agreed to give their time and talents to our organization,” he added.
The addition of Board members from outside of Methuen is part of a larger effort to recognize the Festival of Trees as a truly regional organization serving communities throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. Each year the Festival welcomes guests from nearly 400 communities throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and 18 other states. In recent years, our trees have been donated by businesses, organizations, schools, families and individuals from nearly 40 communities and their winners have come from nearly 60 different communities.
