Festival Announces ‘Virtual’ Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees Board of Directors have announced plans to hold the 27th Annual Festival of Trees ‘virtually’ this year. Although the Festival won’t be bringing record-breaking crowds to 13 Branch Street to experience the trees in person, the Festival will include an opportunity for our friends and supporters to win beautifully decorated trees and wreaths just like they always have.

“These are certainly strange and difficult times for all of us,” said Festival president Tom Lussier in a letter announcing the Festival plans to past donors and volunteers. “COVID-19 has changed so much of what we define as normal and has challenged all of us to find new ways to do so many things,” he added.

For sure, COVID-19 will certainly make everything different this year. The health, and the safety of the thousands of visitors who attend every year, is absolutely the most important consideration for all of us. Our plans include the annual tree raffle conducted online, the $10,000 Charles Raffle, and our online Festival Auction. And, according to Lussier, there might even be new ways to kick-off the 2020 holiday season at the Festival of Trees!
