Festival Volunteers Raise More Than $7,000 for Methuen and Haverhill Relay for Life Events

Teams of volunteers sponsored by the Festival of Trees participated in this year’s Relay for Life events sponsored by the American Cancer Society in Methuen and Haverhill. Combined, the two Festival teams raised $7,177 to support the fight against cancer.

“The Festival of Trees almost exclusively raises money to support its Mission of Historic Preservation and Restoration; however, this year the Board decided to give back to the community which has generously supported the Festival for more than 25 years,” said Festival Board president Tom Lussier. “We’re very proud that as a first-year participant, our Methuen team achieved the second-highest fundraising total,” added Lussier.

Festival Board members Derek Marchand and Gina Lannan co-chaired the Methuen team and Rosemary Desmond and Bill Cox co-chaired the Haverhill team. “We’re very grateful to everyone who joined our teams and to all those who supported their efforts. We are proud of our contribution to this important annual event,” Lussier added.
